  1. FTPd Quick Start

  3. To use FTPd:
  4.  
  5. Ñ Ensure you are running System 7, with File Sharing turned on.
  6. Ñ Ensure your Users and Groups privileges are set correctly.
  7. Ñ Ensure MacTCP 1.1 (or later) is installed and working.
  8. Ñ Read the Security Considerations section of the Docs file!
  9. Ñ Run FTPd Setup, and set the priviledges you want for the owner, users, and guest, as well as the Text file creator (eg MacWrite) and other assorted parameters.  Also set the startup user directories in the User Directories dialog.
  10. Ñ Enable gopher support and Guest logins if you wish Gopher serving.
  11. Ñ Put an alias to FTPd or FTPd (Background) in your startup folder, and launch it.
